Wanted: Full-Time Directional Drill Operator

Description: Telecom Fiber, an Atlanta based company, is seeking a fulltime Horizontal Directional Drill Locator interested in building a long-term career in the underground telecommunications industry. Job consists of day to day drilling and pullback of various sized conduits for outside plant fiber networks. The work consists of new builds, maintenance, and restoration in rural and metro areas, with most of it being performed under master service agreements with telecom carriers and regional utilities.

Qualifications: Driller MUST be skilled in metro area drilling operations and familiar with highly congested utility drill shots, 3+ years of verifiable experience with locating/drilling equipment. Local applicants are preferred. Out of market applicants will be considered on a case by case basis. Pre-Employment testing to include MVR, Drug Screen and Background. All Applicants MUST carry a class A CDL, be able to pass a DOT physical, and have an acceptable driving record. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States – We participate in E Verify

Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience as a Directional Drill Locator
• Ability to drill drilling in both standard and high-risk areas, such as areas with live utilities
• Ability to listen to and implement directions
• Knowledge of highway traffic control standards
• Knowledge of operation and maintenance of all equipment
• Knowledge of Underground Construction practices
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, practices and procedures as related to construction

Responsibilities‬
•
• Locate underground utilities and monitor locating process during drilling
•
• Operate HDD equipment in accordance with company and industry standards
• Read prints and demonstrate good judgement in the field
• Work as a team in tandem with supervisor, manager and other crew members ‬

• Must be able to lift 30-40lbs
•

‬Employees may be required to work more than 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.

Pay scale is $24-$30/ per hour depending on experience.
