Residential Structure Fire- Fatality
At approximately 3:00 a.m. on October 15, 2026, the Lebanon Rural Fire Protection District was dispatched to the 18500 block of Deer Run Road for a residential structure fire with a possible trapped occupant.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from the residence. Firefighters initiated an exterior attack, quickly knocking down fire in the bedroom before entering the structure to conduct a search for the occupant.
Upon entering the bedroom, crews located the occupant on the bed. Unfortunately, the occupant was deceased. Two dogs were also located in the bedroom and did not survive the fire.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the bedroom and a small portion of the hallway. However, the residence sustained extensive heat and smoke damage.
The other occupant and pets were able to escape the fire without injuries.
The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office was contacted to investigate the incident. Following the investigation, the fire was determined to be accidental.
