Why did you become a firefighter?
▪️My dad has been on the department my whole life and it has been inspiring. I also feel that my experiences in FFA has given me the aptitudes of leadership that are necessary for this role.

What is your favorite part about working for our local department?
▪️Getting to help others within our community alongside my dad.

What is one piece of advice you’d give to someone interested in the fire service?
▪️At the end of the day, you can do a lot of good. So why not join and do it?

What is the most rewarding (or most challenging) part of the job?
▪️The most rewarding part of the job is knowing that you are doing a lot of good within our community.

Favorite Hobby Outside of the Fire Department:
▪️I love wrenching on things and working on various projects.

Come on out to the Gazebo on Tuesday August 4th, 2026 for Lester Prairies National Night Out. The lions will be serving a Hamburger Meal starting at 5 p.m. We can’t wait to see u all there, it wouldn’t be possible without the help from the Lester Prairie/Winsted police department, and the Lester Prairie Fire department, we appreciate all the things u do for the community we are truly blessed.

▪️I had 2 brothers on the department, and I thought it would be exciting.

What is your favorite part about working for our local department?
▪️The people of the community and working with our membership.

What is one piece of advice you’d give to someone interested in the fire service?
▪️Go into membership with an open mind. You’re going to find rewards where you least expect it.

What is the most rewarding (or most challenging) part of the job?
▪️There are 30 different opinions, and the challenge/reward is finding the middle ground.

Favorite Hobby Outside of the Fire Department:
▪️Fishing is very relaxing to me. My wife, Julie, and I are starting to travel as well.

Announcing our 2026 Prairie Days Grand Marshals - the Lester Prairie Lions Club!!
We are excited to honor our local Lions Club in recognition of their contributions to our community and in celebrating of their 40th anniversary in Lester Prairie!

Starting on 7/16/2026, McLeod County will be under a burning ban until Friday at 11am. No open burning will be allowed during this time. This does not include recreational fires. Weather conditions will be monitored, and restrictions may be extended if needed.
