Disability Activism and Socialism are deeply intertwined, this month we want to shine a spotlight on both. In a society that:
- Defines people by their productivity,
- Selectively decides who has autonomy,
- And treats meeting basic health needs as a luxury
We understand that the way to give dignity to our disabled comrades is to remove the systemic barriers constructed by both capitalism and ableism to oppress them. This is why we fight for platforms such as Medicaid for All and a robust social safety net. Visit our linktree for a more in depth essay and reading list!

Join the Bluegrass DSA at our first Socialist Summer Art Market on July 31st at Al’s Bar, starting at 6pm. Come support local artists and take part in an art raffle to raise money for the BGDSA!

A day of fun, sun, and socialism! Shout out to all of our new comrades for coming out to learn more about our chapter, we doubled our attendance from the last DSA 101 event and that kind of commitment from our community is what has allowed us to become the 2nd fastest growing chapter in the country!

You don’t have to wait for a 101 to get involved though, keep an eye out here and for our newsletter to get information on upcoming events, committee meetings, and action opportunities.

Due to the incredible efforts of our tabling teams at multiple Pride events, as well as the massive wins that DSA made across the country over the last couple of weeks, our DSA 101 and cookout scheduled for this weekend has over DOUBLED OUR EXPECTED TURNOUT!!! 🔥🌹🥳🎉 (that also means we’re at capacity for this event — if you missed signing up, keep an eye out for future events!)

To that end, to ensure that everyone gets fed, we are asking for donations to help us cover the extra food! So if you have a fiver laying around and want help make this event possible, consider sending it our way! 🫡
