This week, we recognize the dedicated men and women who serve behind the walls, our Detention Officers.
Established in 1984, National Correction/Detention Officers Week honors a group of professionals whose work often goes unseen, but is critical to public safety. Every day, they manage high-risk environments, maintain order, and ensure the safety and wellbeing of those in our custody.
Their role goes far beyond security, they are problem-solvers, mentors, and professionals who show up with resilience, patience, and commitment, even on the toughest days.
With increasing demands, staffing challenges, and the ever-changing nature of the job, their dedication has never been more important.
Please join us in thanking our Detention staff, not just this week, but year-round, for their service, professionalism, and commitment to our community."
