☀️ HOT PAVEMENT = HOT PAWS 🐾

As temperatures rise this week, remember that sidewalks and asphalt can get dangerously hot for our four-legged family members. Even when the air temperature feels manageable, pavement temperatures can climb high enough to burn a dog’s paws in seconds.

Before heading out for a walk, try the 7-second rule: place the back of your hand on the pavement for seven seconds. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.

Walk early in the morning or later in the evening, stick to grass and shaded areas when possible, and always bring plenty of water.

A little planning can keep your best friend safe and comfortable this summer.

LPD Search Warrant Closes Down Suspected Drug House

On July 21st, an LPD officer made a vehicle stop in the area of Lincoln Blvd and HWY65. The driver, Moses Lopez, was in possession of around 1 ounce of methamphetamine and arrested for narcotics sales and booked at the South Placer Jail.

LPD’s efforts did not stop there.

In the following week, officers identified Lopez’s residence and secured a search warrant to look for more evidence of narcotics sales. Officers also learned of numerous neighborhood complaints regarding narcotics activity at Lopez’s residence, located in the 100 block of Ina Way.

Today, that search warrant was served with the assistance of a Rocklin Police Department K9. Officers located Lopez at the residence and found an additional ounce of methamphetamine. He was arrested (again) for narcotics sales.

The residence was found to be in extremely poor condition. Lincoln Code Enforcement responded and tagged the residence as a dangerous building, ceasing further occupation or entry.

More proactive policing shuts down a suspected drug house.

Last night, an LPD officer made a vehicle stop in the area of Twelve Bridges Drive and Hwy 65. During a search of the vehicle, the officer located around one ounce of methamphetamine. Ricardo Bonar was arrested for possessing a dangerous drug for sale and booked at the South Placer Jail.

Last night, patrol officers served a search warrant in the 300 block of E Street regarding methamphetamine sales.
Deputies from the Placer County Sheriff's Office assisted in the service.

During a search of the residence, officers located an ounce of methamphetamine and a small amount of fentanyl. Sean Shepard was arrested for possession of a dangerous drug for sale and booked at the South Placer Jail.

More proactive policing, and another drug dealer in custody.
