Our mission: Professional Law Enforcement as a Community Service

10/30/2026

Lincoln Police Sergeant McCauley and Property & Evidence Technician Janelle Gurnee had a great time attending Summerset Assisted Living’s Community Trunk or Treat event! It was a great turnout, with so many creative costumes, and lots of smiling faces.

THANK YOU to Summerset Assisted Living for inviting us, hosting a fun event, and more importantly, bringing our community together!

As we get ready for Halloween festivities this weekend, here are a few safety reminders:

🎃 Carry a flashlight or glow stick and wear reflective clothing.

🎃 Use crosswalks and look both ways before crossing the street.

🎃 Keep an eye on children and stay together while trick-or-treating.

🎃 Inspect candy before enjoying your treats.

🎃 Drivers, remember to drive slowly through neighborhoods and watch out for the kiddos.

Have fun, stay safe, and have a fabulous Halloween, Lincoln! 🧡🚔

October is Pedestrian Safety Month
Drivers and pedestrians share responsibility for keeping our streets safe.

Slow down, especially near crosswalks and schools
Stay alert—avoid distractions
Yield to pedestrians in marked crosswalks
Pedestrians: use crosswalks whenever possible and make eye contact before crossing

A few extra seconds can save a life. Let’s look out for one another.
