🎃📖As part of LCS Literacy Fest, Justice Elementary students enjoyed a weeklong Halloween-themed Book Tasting filled with spooky surprises and unexpected twists! 🎃📖

Students explored a variety of books across different genres, visited creatively decorated reading stations, and discovered new stories through engaging activities and discussions. The experience encouraged students to step outside their reading comfort zones, spark their imaginations, and discover that reading can be both fun and full of surprises! 💙

🎉📖Logan Middle School students put their creativity and love of reading on display as they participated in a school-wide, one-pager showcase to celebrate this week's literature festival!🎉📖

Finding their own creative way to showcase what they had learned, LMS students created one-pagers based on a grade-level texts. From thoughtful connections and key details to creative designs and unique presentations, these one-pagers demonstrate that there’s more than one way to bring a great book to life!

What a fantastic way to celebrate literature and learning!💙

🎉🐱Logan High School celebrated Literacy Week with some creative activities. From one-pagers to character bios and cartoon comparisons, learning came to life in so many ways!

“The Cask of Amontillado”— Students explored types of irony, setting, and themes.
Beowulf — Students created “body bios” for Grendel and his mother.
The Crucible — One-pagers helped bring the characters and themes to life.
To Kill a Mockingbird — Students dug into symbolism, plot twists, and irony in Chapters 8–10.

Science joined the fun, too, with the comparison of two closely related professions; they turned those findings into cartoons.

And that’s just a peek at some of the fun learning moments this week at LHS! 💙

📖🎉Holden Central Elementary celebrated its Literature Festival with a week full of stories, creativity, and a little Halloween magic!🎃

One class brought The Little Old Lady to life in the BEST way possible—with Principal Mary Beth Holstein stepping into character as the Little Old Lady herself! After hearing the story, students used sequencing cards to retell the events and put their comprehension skills to work. Then, the creativity continued with pumpkin painting and scarecrow drawings!

Other classes explored the creepy and classic worlds of Jasper Rabbit's Creepy Tales and Charlotte's Web . Students also put their writing skills to work with informative pieces about pumpkins and favorite Halloween candies.

What a fantastic way to showcase this week's Literature Festival in Logan County! From becoming story characters to creating art and sharing ideas, Holden Central students proved that when literature comes to life, learning is a whole lot of fun! ❤️📖

📚 Celebrating Literacy Week at Man High School! 📚
Across our English Language Arts department, students are engaging in meaningful learning experiences that strengthen reading comprehension, critical thinking, literary analysis, and creative expression.
Through a variety of classroom activities and projects, students are exploring themes, analyzing significant details, making connections, and developing thoughtful responses to literature. These experiences encourage students to look beyond the surface, ask deeper questions, and communicate their understanding in creative and meaningful ways.
We are proud to see our students challenging themselves, discovering new perspectives, and growing as readers, writers, and critical thinkers!

Buffalo Elementary hosted the…HAUNTED LIBRARY: READ IF YOU DARE! 👻🎃

What a SPOOKTACULAR day of learning. Our students stepped into the Haunted Library for a day filled with literacy, hands-on activities, problem-solving, and Halloween fun! From spooky stories to sensory adventures, our students were learning every step of the way!

Our literacy centers brought learning to life:

Werewolf Reading Den – Students settled in to listen to a spooky story that brought the Halloween spirit to life!

Vocabulary Vault – Students practiced and strengthened their vocabulary skills while playing a fun game of Vocabulary BINGO!

Graveyard of Lost Words – Students dug through our sensory graveyard to explore synonyms, antonyms, and letter sounds!

Witch’s Word Lab – Our young word wizards searched through spooky sensory materials to locate and build grade-level words!

Crime Scene Investigators – Our upper-grade students put their inference skills to the test as they examined clues, investigated a crime scene, and worked to solve the case!

Spooky Sensory Bins – Our lower-grade students used their five senses to explore, observe, and discover through Halloween-themed sensory experiences!

From building vocabulary and strengthening phonics skills to making inferences and exploring with our senses, our students showed that learning can be both meaningful AND fun! ❤️📖
