The Loyola Immigrant Justice Clinic (LIJC) is a community-based collaboration of Loyola Law School, Loyola Marymount University, Homeboy Industries Inc., and Dolores Mission Church. LIJC’s dual-pronged mission is to advance the rights of the indigent immigrant population in East Los Angeles through direct legal services, education, and community empowerment, while teaching law students effective immigrants’ rights lawyering skills in a real world setting. LIJC focuses on providing representation to individuals who are unable to obtain immigration legal services elsewhere with an emphasis on immigrants with certain immigration and criminal complications who reside in the East Los Angeles area.

Update as of September 25, 2026: Stay informed on the latest status of DACA. While we continue to wait for Judge Hanen’s decision in the Fifth Circuit (Texas), the existing protections and work permits remain valid. First-time or initial renewals have not re-started. Apply for your renewal 9-12 months before the expiration date on your current work permit. DACA renewals may take longer than the estimated processing time of 7 months posted on the USCIS website. If your case has been pending for more than 213 days from the receipt notice date, you can submit an inquiry at myUSCIS online or 1-800-375-5283.

Muchísimas gracias to Dos Tierras Coffee for showing up with so much love and solidarity at the Women’s Personal Training Hollywood CA Ganas for Justice Run benefiting LMU Loyola Law School Immigrant Justice Clinic (LIJC). ❤️

Our Director, Marissa, has known Enrique, the owner of Dos Tierras, since their college days (she’s also a very proud Tia to his daughters ), so having him show up to support LIJC and our community made this moment especially meaningful. 🥹❤️

Even more special, all proceeds from their coffee sales went toward supporting our work and the immigrant communities we serve. ☕️⚖️

This is what community looks like—showing up for one another, believing in the work, and finding ways to nourish the movement. Forever grateful for the people who continue to walk alongside us. ❤️

El miércoles, 2 de septiembre a las 6PM: Acompaña a la Clínica jurídica de justicia para migrantes de la facultad de derecho de Loyola Law School durante una Conversación Comunitaria con los ex-clientes de la ex-abogada Alexandra Lozano Kennedy. ✨ Welcoming our newest class of LIJC students! ✨

We are thrilled to welcome a new group of clinical law students to the Loyola Immigrant Justice Clinic (LIJC)! As part of orientation, they spent a day immersed in the community at two of our incredible partner sites, Dolores Mission Church and Homeboy Industries—learning more about the communities we serve and the people and organizations at the heart of our work.

Over the coming year, these students will learn, grow, and serve alongside our clients and community partners as they develop the skills to engage in immigrant rights advocacy with courage, compassion, and a deep commitment to justice.

We are so excited for all that this new class will learn, contribute, and accomplish. Welcome to the LIJC! 💙⚖️

— Run or walk to Ferndell Trail in Griffith Park (beginner-friendly, all levels welcome)
— Finish on our feet with a beginner-friendly salsa & bachata class — super fun, no experience needed, just GANAS 💃🏽

Every ticket goes to support LIJC, a free, community-based law school clinic providing legal services to the immigrant community here in Los Angeles and abroad — at no cost to the people who need it.
