05/24/2026,19:25. We will have 2 boats out on the Ohio River & 3 boats out on St Johns Rivers/ Intercostal Waterway starting at 05:30 for the Memorial Day Holiday on HLS and PS patrol. We will also be assisted by the USWP Mounted Patrol for both water and Land coverage. Be safe and enjoy the Holiday.

02/25/2026, 00:45. Official Release... Louisville KY. River Guards PBR-26 will be conducting training in Body search and recovery with the USWP Mounted Patrol Team- 1 along the Ohio River today. PBR- 45 will be at 2 mile island on PS duty.

02/08/2026.16:00. Small boat warning is being issued to boaters on the Ohio River Our boats have encountered areas of complete ice coverages on several areas of the Ohio River along the KY, IN . borders. Take extreme care if out on the river.

1/27/2026, 21:30. Do to us only having open boats and the temperature being what it is our boats will end there patrols at 22:00 on the upper and lower Ohio River and be placed on Stand-by in the event of an emergency or security issue. I wish to Thank and praise our dedicated volunteers for their service and dedication during this harsh weather.

1/24/2026,17:15. Louisville ky station we received our 1st. Request for assistance of the storm. We was asked to provide security and use our plow truck to keep a driveway and road clear for salt trucks overnight into tomorrow.

01/26/2026, 23:40. The US Water Patrol and USWP Mounted Patrol Teams in Louisville ky, Elizabethtown, KY. and West Point KY, are on full alert and will be ready to assist as needed. Also all HLS /PS patrols will continue on the River and land as scheduled.

Official Post: 1/16/26, 21:30. Today our Mounted Patrol posted.
While on a HLS/PS patrol on the Louisville Loop in SW Louisville we came across 3 people in a pick up truck dumping trash and building materials in a ditch along River Rd. when they noticed us approaching and taking pictures they quickly started reloading the truck and left. This is the 3rd time we have caught people actively dumping in a month.

This Saturday 01/11/2025, In Louisville KY on the Ohio River will conduct the cold weather/water, Survival/Rescue training. All USWP Members are required to participate in this training, which consists of jumping into the water wearing only a duty uniform and PFD, the member will then secure a lifeline on a Dummy and then pull it back to the boat then climbing back aboard unassisted. The training will take place in cold weather conditions, with air temperature around 31°F and water temperature around 37°F. We will have members from KY. IN. FL. and also this year members from the USWP Mounted Patrol and American Red Cross Partnership Team.
