In celebration of Grandparents Day, we tried something new this year and invited our grandparents and special guests to join our Lions during their library time! Throughout the week, they stopped by to share favorite stories, lots of smiles, and a love of reading with our students.

We are so thankful to everyone who joined us and helped make our very first Grandparents Read Aloud such a special experience. We loved welcoming you into Greathouse and hope this is the beginning of a wonderful new tradition!

WAGS Pet Therapy of Kentucky, Inc.volunteer and author Tami Harbolt shared how the book Love That Dog inspired her own journey as a writer. She talked with our fourth-grade Lions about therapy dogs, the power of poetry, and finding inspiration through reading and writing. She even invited our students to enter a poetry contest!

Our third-grade Lions welcomed a speaker from Brightside to learn about conserving our natural resources, with a special focus on water conservation and water pollution. Students learned how the choices we make every day can help protect our waterways and keep our community clean and healthy. Small actions can make a BIG difference!
