Today, the students learned important fire safety lessons, met our firefighters, and got an up-close look at the equipment that helps keeps our community safe.

Congratulations to our members who recently completed the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) Operations course!

Over three days, participants developed critical skills in firefighter survival, firefighter rescue, and rapid intervention operations. Training included SCBA emergency procedures, MAYDAY operations, firefighter search and rescue, emergency air supply, drags and carries, confined-space and below-grade rescues, and realistic fireground scenarios requiring coordinated RIT responses.

This challenging, hands-on training strengthens our ability to protect not only the communities we serve but also each other when things go wrong on the fireground.

Great job to everyone who completed the course and continues to invest in their skills and the safety of our department. We are proud of your commitment to excellence and to ensuring everyone goes home safely.

Please remember:
👶 Never leave a child unattended in a vehicle.
🐾 Pets are just as vulnerable to extreme heat.
🔑 Always check the back seat before locking your vehicle.
📱 If you see a child or pet alone in a hot car, call 911 immediately.

One moment of distraction can have lifelong consequences. Taking a few extra seconds to check your vehicle could save a life.
