Yesterday, our CEO and Feeding Texas Board Chair, Dina Jeffries, alongside SPFB Board Member Bill Stubblefield, stood on the Texas Capitol steps to champion policies that fight hunger and support families across Texas.
Making sure every Texan has access to nutritious food takes more than meals. It takes advocacy. Through its work with lawmakers at both the state and federal levels, Feeding Texas helps shape legislation and nutrition programs that impact communities in every corner of our state.
As the statewide association for Texas' 20 food banks, Feeding Texas works tirelessly with state and federal lawmakers to advance anti-hunger policies and strengthen public nutrition programs that support families in all 254 Texas counties.

In August, the South Plains Food Bank, and our 110+ community partners provided food assistance 97,021 times to neighbors across our service area! This included 5,157 seniors and 2,148 children.
These numbers represent more than food distributed—they represent families supported, children ready to learn, and seniors receiving nutritious food when they needed it most.

We are grateful for the partners, volunteers, and donors who make this work possible every day.

Partnerships like this make our mission possible! We are incredibly thankful to Communities in Schools - South Plains and H-E-B for joining us in the fight against hunger. Last school year, CIS-SP supported over 50,000 students and provided individualized case management to 6,895 at-risk students, and at the same time we delivered more than 90,000 meals to children in need across the South Plains. Thanks to a grant from HEB's Tournament of Champions, together SPFB and CIS can provide more healthy and nutritious meals to students and help meet the needs of children in schools across the South Plains. Together, we’re nourishing more than just bodies, we’re enriching the lives of students and strengthening our community!
