Grief can be a complex human emotion that almost everyone experiences differently. It's usually caused by some form of loss, which may include a loved one, a career, future plans, or a cherished object.
People usually heal from grief at their own pace. There may be no set timeline for how long the grieving process should last or how much time is too much.
Grief may come and go in waves over the years, or you might experience it all at once. When waves of grief hit, please note that it generally isn't a sign of moving backward, but a normal part of grieving.

**For those experiencing suicidal thoughts, please contact the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline at 988.

'Recognizing the strength of families, the power of community, and the policies that make breastfeeding possible.'
Breastfeeding doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Families’ ability to meet their breastfeeding goals is shaped by the support they receive, the healthcare they can access, and the policies that either open doors or create barriers.
RISE (Resilience, Interdependence, Self-Determination, and Empowerment) is the theme for National Breastfeeding Month. This year’s theme recognizes the many people and organizations working together to support breastfeeding families, including lactation consultants, healthcare providers, community advocates, policymakers, and researchers.

Before you head outside, check Maine’s new pollen dashboards on the MaineTracking Network. These tools use new sensors to show near real‑time pollen levels by location, so people with allergies or asthma can decide when to keep windows closed, limit time outdoors, or talk with their provider about medication changes. Collecting and sharing public health data is more important than ever before. We’re doing our part to make sure Mainers have access to accurate and timely data on a variety of health and environmental factors including lead poisoning, radon, and well water contaminants.
