Welcome Jarrett Chapin!

Aloha Purgolders! Students call me Mr. Chapin, and I am super excited to join the English department here at EHS this upcoming school year. I moved back to Madison after about four years of teaching high school ELA and Newswriting in Hawaiʻi, where I grew up. I am also happy to be back in Madison because I completed my PhD in Literature right down the road at UW, where I wrote about the intersection of North American colonization, law, and literary works of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. In the classroom, I’m passionate about big ideas, philosophy, and using literature to help students find their voices and become active members of their community. Outside of school, I’m a huge gamer (both video games and indie board games) and love spending time with my partner Darcie, our cat Marilyn, and our French Bulldog, Vinny. I can’t wait to get to know all the awesome students and families of East. Go Purgolders!

Welcome Lexi Quigley!

Hey East! My name is Ms. Quigley (or Ms. Q) and I am absolutely ecstatic to begin my work as a Special Education teacher here at EHS this upcoming school year. I was born and raised in New York where I received my Bachelors Degree in Education from Marist University in 2025. I moved to Madison last summer to pursue my Masters Degree in Special Education at the amazing UW-Madison. Last school year I worked as a Special Education Assistant at Schenk Elementary School on Madison’s east side. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy hitting the gym, watching football, reading, listening to music & exploring Madison with my friends. I cannot wait to meet all the lovely students & families of East. Go Purgolders!

Welcome Tippy Sangasy to her new role at East as the Olbrich and Tenney Neighborhood Secretary.

Hi Purgolders! My name is Ms. Tippy and I am thrilled to continue working at East, but in a new capacity this school year. Last school year was my first year at East as a Multilingual Teacher, and this year, I will support students and families as a Neighborhood Secretary. Born and raised in Milwaukee, I taught English as a Second Language for three years before moving here to Madison last summer. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, baking, playing video games, reading books, watching a variety of Chinese and Korean dramas, and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to welcoming and getting to know you all!

Make sure your online permissions through Infinite Campus are completed and you have an up to date physical on file with the athletic office.

🩺Still need a physical? We are hosting FREE Sports Physicals at East on Monday, August 10th, and Tuesday, August 18th from 9:00am-3:00pm. Appointments are required.
To schedule an appointment:
1️⃣ Fill out the WIAA Health History Forms including a parent/guardian signature (https://www.wiaawi.org/Portals/0/PDF/Forms/PPE-form.pdf)
2️⃣ Take a photo of the signed forms and email them to [email protected]
3️⃣ The Athletic Office will reply to the email to schedule an appointment date and time.
