For 25 years, Combat Blindness International and Dr Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital have worked together to expand access to quality eye care and create sustainable solutions to prevent blindness.
The partnership began in 2001 when Dr. Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital submitted its first proposal to CBI, seeking support for 160 free and subsidized cataract surgeries. What started as a small collaboration has grown into a powerful partnership that has transformed millions of lives.
In 2014, CBI began supporting SCEH's Certified Ophthalmic Paramedic (COP) Program, which helps train women from underserved communities to become eye care technicians and create lasting change in their communities.
In 2021, CBI expanded its support to the Aadya Initiative, a groundbreaking program that trains and employs women to conduct door-to-door vision screenings in their own communities and connect people with sight-saving care.
Today, our partnership continues to grow, helping provide cataract surgeries, empowering women through training to become ophthalmic paramedics and eye screeners, and expanding access to quality eye care throughout India.
We are deeply grateful for our partnership with Dr. Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital. Partnerships like these are at the heart of CBI's mission, combining shared expertise, innovation, and commitment to create lasting change and bring sight-saving care to those who need it most.
