This past Saturday, we gathered for our Annual MCF Family Picnic! It was a great day filled with good food, plenty of laughs, and time spent together with our firefighters and their families Days like this are a great reminder that the fire service is about more than the people who answer the call, it’s also about the families and community who support them along the way. Thank you to everyone who came out, helped make the day possible, and shared in another great MCF tradition!

We also want to give a special thank you to the members of our Village community who generously covered the $150 cost of the pavilion rental. That thoughtful gesture was greatly appreciated and helped make the day that much more special. Thank you for supporting our Fire Department and our members!

We had a great time visiting Families R Us at Holy Family for a fire prevention detail! It was a wonderful opportunity to spend time with the kids and talk about the importance of fire safety and prevention. We always enjoy getting out into the community, answering questions, and helping teach our youngest community members how they can stay safe in an emergency. A big thank you to the staff and families at Families R Us for having us and for the warm welcome!

The Malone Callfiremen were proud to have the opportunity to participate in this year’s Career Fair and community outreach events alongside so many outstanding organizations and professionals.

Events like these give students a chance to explore future career paths through hands-on experiences, conversations with first responders, and a closer look at the equipment, training, and teamwork that go into serving our community every day.

We enjoyed meeting with students, answering questions, and sharing what it means to be part of the fire service. Whether it’s firefighting, emergency response, or community service, we hope we inspired the next generation to get involved and consider a future in public safety.

Thank you to Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES, Malone Central School District, the Greater Plattsburgh National Guard Recruiting Team, and all of the businesses, agencies, and organizations that helped make these events possible.

Today, members of the Malone Callfiremen took part in our 2026 Annual Pump Drill, an important hands on training focused on drafting operations and water movement. Using portable tanks and coordinated engine operations, crews practiced:

-Establishing reliable water supply from static sources
-Operating multiple apparatus simultaneously
-Maintaining consistent flow for firefighting operations

A big thank you to all members who participated and helped make this training a success.

With the warmer weather arriving, conditions are becoming increasingly dry, which raises the risk of brush and wildfires in our area.

Please remember that we are currently in the New York State burn ban. Open burning is not permitted during this time.

We ask everyone to use caution with any outdoor activities that could spark a fire. A small fire can spread quickly under these conditions.

Stay safe and help us protect our community.
