🎒 Back to School Safety Reminder 🚸

As students return to school, the Malverne Police Department reminds all motorists to use extra caution in and around our school zones.

Please slow down, obey crossing guards and all traffic-control devices — including No U-Turn signs — stop for school buses with flashing red lights, and always be alert for children walking or biking to school.

Parents and guardians are also asked to use designated drop-off and pick-up areas and avoid stopping or parking in a manner that creates unsafe conditions.

Our school zones will receive additional patrols, and enforcement action will be taken when necessary to help ensure the safety of our students, staff and families.

We wish everyone at Malverne High School, Howard T. Herber Middle School, Maurice W. Downing Primary School, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and Grace Lutheran School a safe, healthy and successful school year!

Please drive carefully — our children are counting on us.

🇺🇸 Happy 4th of July from the Malverne Police Department!

As you celebrate with family and friends, please make safety part of your plans. If you’re drinking, don’t drive. Plan ahead for a sober ride, buckle up, slow down, and keep your eyes on the road.

Have a safe and enjoyable Independence Day weekend!

🚨 **SCAM ALERT – DON'T BECOME THE NEXT VICTIM** 🚨

Scammers are becoming more convincing than ever. They can make it appear that they're calling from your bank, the IRS, Social Security, Amazon, or even the **Malverne Police Department**.

**Remember:**
✔️ Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or wire transfers because someone called, texted, or emailed you.
✔️ Never give out passwords or one-time verification codes.
✔️ Don't trust Caller ID alone—it can be spoofed.
✔️ If something doesn't seem right, hang up and contact the organization directly using a trusted phone number.

Please take a moment to review the attached flyer and share it with your family, friends, and especially older loved ones who are often targeted by these scams.

📞 **When in doubt, call the Malverne Police Department at (516) 599-3141.** We would much rather answer your questions and help prevent a scam than investigate one after your money has been stolen.

**Together, we can keep Malverne safe.**

Due to the forecasted inclement weather, the Incorporated Village of Malverne and the American Legion regretfully announce the cancellation of tomorrow's Memorial Day Parade.

A Memorial Day Ceremony will still be held at Village Hall at 11:00 AM for all those who wish to attend as we come together to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

We thank everyone for their understanding and hope you will join us in paying tribute to our fallen heroes.

A winter storm is expected to impact Malverne later today and tonight.
Snow is likely, mainly after 5:00PM continuing through the evening and could be heavy at times with 4 to 8 inches of new snow accumulation possible.
We kindly ask all residents to keep vehicles off the streets and please also remove any basketball hoops and other curb line items so the Department of Public Works can effectively clear snow from the roadways.
Please also refrain from shoveling snow into the streets, as this creates hazardous conditions and slows snow removal efforts.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience as Malverne DPW works to keep Malverne streets safe and passable for everyone. Stay safe and warm.
If you have any issues, you can contact the Malverne Police Department Desk at (516) 599-3141.

**Malverne Alert** A winter weather advisory has been issued for our area. Snow is forecast to begin tonight and continue through Sunday morning. If snow accumulation is 3 inches or more, overnight on-street parking will not be permitted so our DPW can clear the roadways safely. When shoveling, please avoid throwing snow back into the street, and if you have a fire hydrant near your home, please make sure it is cleared of snow. If you have any questions please contact the Malverne Police desk at (516) 599-3141.
