This year, some of Miss Frame's Spanish 2 and 3 students visited UareU Preschool to teach their students Spanish! The high schoolers taught them their colors, numbers, and body parts along with some Easter words and the names of their favorite animals. The big kids also taught them a fun song and proudly joined the little learners on stage to perform it at their end-of-year program. It was a wonderful experience for both the preschoolers and high school students! A special thanks to our high school Spanish students for being so enthusiastic and caring with their new little friends!

Three of our 10th grade English classes teamed up with three of our 2nd grade classes for a phonics collaboration activity. The 10th grade visited the elementary school in April and were taught various phonics concepts by the 2nd graders. Then the 10th graders invited the 2nd graders to the high school yesterday, to share activities and games they created, to reinforce specific phonics concepts the 2nd graders have been studying. It was a fun way to get out of the traditional classroom and learn/teach in a different format. We had a lot of fun reading to the 2nd graders after the work was done and of course enjoying a popsicle, too!

What a week at MHS! We wrapped up our TAW celebration with a ✨ golden ticket hunt ✨ and it's safe to say that teachers will do anything for a gift card! The baked potato bar, mac and cheese, and chili from Jimmy Jo's were a great way to end a wildly Wonka-ful week. As a final token of our appreciation, teachers received a gift card, a handwritten note, and a picture with the StuCo member who chose to honor them for the week. 💜

In addition to the adorable banner painted by an MHS student and the festive balloon arch created by a community member, we also had fun Wonka-fying our teachers! Take a look at some of the newest employees of Wonka's Chocolate Factory. 🍬🍫🍬

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to our efforts. We would not have been able to give our high school staff a week this sweet without you!

StuCo continued to serve up appreciation on day 4 of TAW! Silvano's and Monical's pizzas were on the menu today, along with some fan-favorite desserts from a former teacher (iykyk 😉). Cranky Mike's Popcorn was delivered during study hall just in case teachers needed a little something extra to make it through the rest of the day. We've only got one day left and we're hoping we've saved the most wildly wonderful day for last! 🎫

TAW Day #3 - A day late, but not short on appreciation (or sweets 🍬)! Thank you to the high school administration for providing Olive Garden for lunch today! StuCo members also visited staff with a treat cart and delivered student-written shout-outs to show them just how GOLDEN they really are! Don't forget to thank a teacher this week!

🍫 TAW Day 2 @ MHS! Today we celebrated like Augustus Gloop! We had some scrumdiddlyumptious sandwiches from NYC Deli and chocolate cake from Portillo's! Teachers also got a brownie from Heather's Cupcakes during study hall—because you can never have too much chocolate! W***y Wonka-themed trivia has been going all week, too, and boy, do we have some smart cookies! 🍫

Day 1 of Teacher Appreciation Week was a HONKING success! 🚗💜

This morning, students helped kick things off by getting drivers to give a well-deserved honk of appreciation to their teachers. It was a fun (and loud!) way to start a Monday!

Teachers also received a car-themed gift to keep them cruising through the week, and they also enjoyed a delicious lunch from Maria’s Kitchen.

Thanks for all you do, MHS — we’re just getting started!
