Yesterday, the Manvel Police Department proudly participated in the Murph Challenge in honor of Lt. Michael P. Murphy, United States Navy SEAL, and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

The Murph Challenge is more than just a workout — it represents the strength, sacrifice, perseverance, and dedication displayed by Lt. Murphy and our nation’s heroes every day. As we pushed through the physical and mental challenges, we reflected on the sacrifices endured by those who serve and protect our freedoms.

We are honored to remember Lt. Michael Murphy’s legacy and stand alongside communities across the nation in paying tribute to our fallen heroes.

“Here We Are, Send Us.”

A special thank you to Keating Toyota for your continued support of our department and community.

🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨

Scammers are becoming more convincing every day, often pretending to be law enforcement, banks, government agencies, or trusted organizations. They may demand money, ask for gift cards, or pressure you into giving personal information over the phone.

Please remember:
🔹 Never give out personal or financial information to unknown callers
🔹 Legitimate organizations will NOT ask for payment by gift card or cash
🔹 Hang up if something feels suspicious
🔹 Verify by calling the official number directly

Our seniors and vulnerable community members are often targeted the most. Please take a moment to share this information with your family, friends, and neighbors. Together, we can help prevent scams and protect our community.

If you believe you’ve been targeted by a scam, contact the Manvel Police Department at (281) 489-1212.

🎉 The Manvel Police Department is proud to recognize LT Cameron McClain for an outstanding professional achievement! 👏

On May 15, 2026, LT McClain graduated from the Leadership Command College (LCC) Class 104 through the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas.

This highly competitive nine-week program included 24 law enforcement leaders from agencies across Texas, representing a combined 494 years of service. The Leadership Command College is designed to strengthen administrative, analytical, and executive leadership skills for current and future law enforcement professionals.

The curriculum focuses on advanced leadership development, public administration, ethics, and the ever-evolving social and legal environments of policing.

Please join us in congratulating LT McClain on this outstanding accomplishment and commitment to professional excellence and leadership in law enforcement! 👮‍♂️👏

This weekend, members of our department will be participating in the Murph Challenge in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. 💪

The Murph Challenge is a well-known CrossFit “Hero” workout performed annually around Memorial Day to honor Michael P. Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2005.

We would also like to give a huge thank you to Keating Toyota for sponsoring the purchase of our event shirts. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Good luck to all participants, and thank you for representing our department and community with pride. There will be more pictures to come after the event.

🚨 Animal Control Operations Update 🚨

UPDATE 5/18/2026

The department has temporarily suspended picking up and intake of animals because partner shelters are at capacity—one due to recent Parvo exposure and another already full.

There is no community threat, but animal pickup will be limited to emergencies until the situation improves.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and will share updates as they become available.

The Manvel Police Department is temporarily suspending the pickup and intake of animals due to current disease outbreaks and capacity limitations at our partner shelters, which have suspended incoming transfers.

During this time, animal pickup services will be limited to emergency situations only.

We are actively working on solutions and will provide updates as more information becomes available. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time.
