Marble Falls Fire Rescue deployed to assist with ongoing wildfires:

The Ross fire near Mineral Wells in Palo Pinto County has prompted a large response from numerous local, state, and federal agencies. The fire is currently mapped to be over 80,000 acres in size and 12% contained per the Texas Forest Service. As part of the Texas Interstate Fire Mutual Aid System, or TIFMAS, Marble Falls Fire Rescue has sent two personnel and a structural engine. Accompanying our personnel is a member each from Burnet County ESD 9 - Spicewood Fire Rescue and Liberty Hill Fire Department. This team arrived on the fire last night and has been tasked with firefighting activities.

This deployment is in addition to our department having another member deployed as part of another TIFMAS wildland team for the past two weeks. That team has been involved in combatting numerous fires throughout the state. The City of Marble Falls remains protected with staffing and resources as well as additional state teams staging in the city. Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by these fire conditions.
