Today we proudly celebrate the 102nd Anniversary of the United States Border Patrol and honor the men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting our nation and securing our borders.

For more than a century, Border Patrol agents have answered the call with courage, grit, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to the American people. Day and night, across every terrain and under every condition, they continue to stand on the front lines defending our homeland.

With more than 21,000 agents serving across the country, the legacy of the U.S. Border Patrol is one of service, strength, and honor. Their dedication to duty and country cannot be replicated.

Today we thank every past and present agent for 102 years of service, sacrifice, and security.

On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.

As President Ronald Reagan once reminded us, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” Today, we reflect on the heroes who gave everything to protect that freedom, ensuring that the blessings we enjoy today endure for generations to come.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a solemn reminder of the cost of liberty. From the battlefields of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, to Iraq and Afghanistan, and to those whose battles continued after returning home, we remember them all.

Their sacrifice is woven into the fabric of our nation. As one powerful sentiment says, our flag does not fly because the wind moves it, but because of the last breath of every soldier who died protecting it.

For many families, this day is deeply personal, a time of remembrance, reflection, and love. As we gather with family and friends, may we also take a quiet moment to honor those who never made it home.

Their legacy lives on in each of us. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. Because of them, our mission continues.

Today, we honor the brave men and women currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. Armed Forces Day is a time for Americans to come together and recognize those who stand on the front lines defending our freedoms, our security, and our way of life both at home and around the world.

Established following the unification of the military under the Department of Defense, Armed Forces Day was created to recognize all branches of our military with one united celebration of service and patriotism.

We thank every active duty service member for their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to our nation. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.
