Mrs.McQueen’s algebra students put the Pythagorean Theorem to the test by exploring different areas throughout the building. Using a 3-4-5 Pythagorean triple, students investigated whether walls and floors met at a perfect 90-degree angle. They put their math skills to work and discovered how algebra connects to the real world! ❤️🤍💙

Back in September, for 💗Dolly Parton Day💗, Mrs. Halcomb's Arts & Humanities classes designed and created bookmarks that promoted kindness and words of encouragement in relation to Dolly's philanthropy and love of books.📚🤩🥰The top 10 (turned 12 with ties) was rewarded with a free snack pass.🥳
They were:
Bethany H.
Kylee S.
Makenna Y.
Zayleigh H.
Laylah W.
Adelyn M.
Gracelyn S.
Kaylee C.
Raylin C.
Kinley J.
Gia N.
The overall winner 🎊Tilly T.🎊, also received a gift card for her outstanding work!
A big Congratulations🎉 to these students for their hardwork and to the JCMS staff for being judges! We will be hiding these bookmarks in the library for students to receive an uplifting surprise when they check out various books. ❤📚

🎃 Spooky Season is JCMS Generals! 🎃
Halloween is right around the corner, and we are excited to celebrate with our students!
To make sure the day stays safe, fun, and focused on learning, we want to share our official Halloween Costume Guidelines ahead of time.
If your student chooses to dress up on Friday, October 30th, please ensure their costume aligns with the following expectations:
🎭 Visibility First: No full-face masks or heavy face paint. We must be able to clearly identify every student for school safety.
🚫 No Weapons or Gore: Absolutely no weapon replicas (swords, fake guns, knives, etc.) or graphic blood/gore are permitted on campus.
👗 Dress Code & Sensitivity: All costumes must follow our standard school dress code (appropriate length, coverage, and footwear). Costumes must also be culturally respectful and free of inappropriate imagery.
🎒 Classroom Friendly: Inflatable costumes and large props are not allowed, as students must be able to sit comfortably at their desks and move safely through the hallways.
🎨 Keep it Mess-Free: All costume hair dye and makeup must be applied before arriving at school. Novelty items like silly string or colored hair spray are banned.
Our administration reserves the right to ask a student to change if a costume is deemed disruptive or unsafe.
If you or your student are unsure about a costume idea, please check with the front office before the big day!
Thank you for helping us keep JCMS safe, inclusive, and fun for everyone. We can’t wait to see your creativity! 🕷️👻
