Every great community investment starts with a simple goal: creating spaces where people can connect, stay active and feel at home. As part of Parks and Rec Month, we’re highlighting how recent Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects are doing just that by enhancing the everyday well-being of Germantown residents.
Completed in FY26, transformational upgrades at both Cameron Brown Park and Riverdale Park were designed with overall community wellness at the forefront.
At Cameron Brown Park, two brand-new pickleball courts were added, complete with dedicated lighting and fencing for evening play, alongside newly constructed, fully ADA-compliant restrooms to serve all parkgoers.
Over at Riverdale Park, what used to be a routine school pickup and drop-off for Riverdale School families is now a much smoother experience thanks to expanded parking areas. The park also gained its own brand-new, fully lit pickleball courts, upgraded drainage and smooth, ADA-accessible trails that welcome visitors of all ages and mobility levels.
Whether it's offering a safe place to play a game of pickleball after work, walking accessible trails with family or easing the daily school rush, these infrastructure investments foster safety, security and equal access for everyone. Upgrades like these prove that when we invest in our parks, we invest directly in the health, happiness and connection of our whole community.
