This summer, Memphis Shelby County Interscholastic Athletic Association is hosting a variety of sports camps across the city! At the recent track and field camp, MSCS student-athletes got the opportunity of a lifetime when Olympic hurdler Freddie Crittenden joined them for practice. Kingsbury High School senior and valedictorian Juan C. is probably one of the few students in MSCS who has chosen to dedicate his life to God, the Catholic Church, and his community. His strong sense of vocation, combined with determination and humility, makes him an inspiring role model for other young people who may be considering a religious calling.

At first, Juan wanted to pursue a career in meteorology or diesel automotive mechanics. However, at the beginning of this year, he realized that he was destined to be an ordained clergy. β€œIf God wants me to do that, then I will say yes, and I won’t turn Him down,” Juan said.
