This month, Memphis has celebrated significant anniversaries and welcomed hundreds of national arts funders to town, experiencing firsthand how our artists and arts organizations are driving not only Memphis’ culture but also its revitalization.

As Barbara Hyde so poignantly expressed behind her headline last week, “In Memphis, we are often quick to notice what’s missing or compare ourselves against cities with more resources and national recognition. Let’s pay equal attention to what we have built here.”

We are proud to facilitate Shelby County's only unrestricted grant program for individual artists. ARTSassist grants support the expansion and innovation of quality artistic work, providing financial flexibility for creative risk-taking and artist career support. Musicians are supported in partnership with Music Export Memphis. Those Mississippi River Fall Sunsets are just perfection. And there is SO much to do! And so much of it is free & family friendly. Whether you’re learning about the ancient Irish roots of Halloween, taking a stroll along art strewn railways, or checking out your favorite artists, you really can’t go wrong this week.
