“In a month, the Campbell Clinic Foundation will host “Campbell Celebrates ‘Back to the 80s,’” to mark our 80th anniversary, raise funds for health outreach and of COURSE, flashback to a great era of music and culture. Naturally, I have gravitated to the MICHAEL: A JussPlay LIVE Experience! at the Crosstown Arts Green Room on August 28. After all, who didn’t dance the entire Thriller album in their friend’s basement night after night in 1982?!” - Jenny Koltnow, Executive Director, Campbell Clinic Foundation

Our leaders, advisors, and jurors, many of whom sacrifice hours for our arts sector without expecting recognition, are the magic behind our grantmaking. Meet our Artist Advisory Committee, whose perspectives advise ARTSmemphis staff and board in review and refinement of programs supporting individual artists, namely our ARTSassist grant, in alignment with ARTSmemphis’ mission and strategic goals. Their advocacy for ARTSmemphis and role as liasons between our organization and local artists is

“Memphis culture has influenced the world, and 901 Weekend is about celebrating the people who are creating what comes next,” Mayor Paul Young said. “We want Memphians to come to Downtown Memphis, experience the incredible talent that lives right here in our city and support the artists, creatives and businesses that make Memphis unlike anywhere else.”

“We’d really like Memphis to be known as a classical arts incubator — one of the capitals of classical theater, not just for Shakespeare but for the great American writers, too,” McCleary said. A new festival featuring plays adapted from classic literature is launching in Memphis. We're proud to support Tennessee Shakespeare Company with an ARTSmemphis Enhancement Grant.

"Satellite Music Hall is also cultivating its Memphis roots in deeper, less-visible ways. The name itself is an homage to the original name of Stax Records and the record store that always occupied its storefront. But, like the Soulsville Found itself, paying respect to Stax goes beyond mere nostalgia.

Isaac Daniel, Stax Music Academy’s executive director, may be more excited than anyone about Satellite’s grand opening. 'We always knew Live Nation was coming, and we’re going to partner with them and give our students opportunities in conjunction with them. Live Nation will be doing certifications with our students for workforce development, where students will actually be getting certified on stuff like Pro Tools, Dante, Logic, and other behind-the-scenes stuff.'"

The new venue at Crosstown Concourse aims to transform the local music scene.
