Our junior high schools have released, so we can officially say: School's Out for Summer! ☀️🎉

Congratulations to our teachers on another successful school year completed!

Well... almost. We know many of our teachers will be busy through Monday wrapping up classrooms, checking off end-of-year tasks, and getting everything ready for summer. But the finish line is finally in sight.

Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and the countless ways you've supported students this year. Enjoy a well-deserved summer break—you've earned it! 🍎🌴📚☀️

The League of Women Voters will live stream the event, and details will be shared via Mobilize closer to the event. A recording will be shared as well. All registered voters in Clay can vote for every open School Board seat on August 18th. Most School Board Races are decided in the primary in August. Florida lawmakers are trying to quietly rewrite higher education with a single line buried in the state budget.

This was done without a public hearing, debate, faculty consultation, or input from students whose education and futures are at stake.

The proposal would grant politically appointed boards new authority over which courses count toward general education requirements at Florida’s public colleges and universities, opening the door to political interference in what students learn.
