Help protect our families, our water, and our environment by safely disposing of old or unwanted medications. Midland County’s Clear the Clutter event is helping us take back medications that could be misused or harm children, pets, and wildlife if left unsecured.

Event details:
Date: April 11th, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: 2435 E. HWY 80 Midland Texas 79706
What to bring: Old or unwanted prescription meds, over-the-counter meds, vitamins, and medication containers
What not to bring: syringes/sharps , radioactive materials, or liquids
Why disposing medications properly matters:
Prevents accidental poisoning and overdoses at home
Reduces the risk of drug misuse and diversion, especially among children and teens
Protects local waterways and ecosystems from pharmaceutical contaminants
Keeps household medications out of landfills or trash that could be opened or misused

Hey there, Midland County! Get ready to kick clutter to the curb with a one-day Trash Bash extravaganza just for you! On April 11, 2026, from 9 AM to 2 PM, bring all your household odds and ends to the Midland County Road & Bridge at 2435 E. HWY 80. We're rolling out the red carpet for:

Used tires without rims
Motor oil
Auto and household batteries
Household trash
Scrap metal
Unused medications

Tossing your trash into the recycling bin is like giving pollution a swift kick in the pants and saving energy for more fun things—like powering your laptop for over a day with just 10 plastic bottles! If you’re in Midland and keen to join the eco-warriors, here’s where you can strut your recycling stuff:

Butt's Recycling Center at 26 W. Industrial Loop, open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Citizens Collection Station at 4100 Smith Road, open Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

So, go on, be a recycling superhero! 🌎♻️

Another successful Clear the Clutter event. Today we disposed of the following:

Approximately 12,000 used tires
330 gallons used motor oil
7 large roll off dumpster of trash and metal
41 auto batteries and various smaller batteries
Several pounds of unused medications

A big thank you to the Midland County and City of Midland staff, volunteers, family and friends, and the community. We will post the final numbers once the trash is weighed.

Get ready to roll with Midland County this Saturday, November 15, 2025! We're thrilled to host an exciting and environmentally-friendly recycling bash where you can responsibly dispose of various items. Bring your old tires, motor oil and filters, batteries, non-hazardous bulk household junk, and unused medications for a proper farewell. No longer will these items end up as unsightly roadside surprises! Instead, they will be given a new lease on life through recycling or other appropriate disposal methods.

Join us from 9 AM to 2 PM at 2435 East Highway 80, Midland, Texas 79706. This event is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to a cleaner and greener community while also decluttering your home. There will be friendly volunteers on hand to assist you, making the process smooth and convenient. Spread the word and bring your friends and family along to make this event a success. Together, let's ensure that these items are handled responsibly and sustainably. See you there!

The Midland County Horseshoe is collecting non-perishable food donations for the
West Texas Food Bank now through November 17.

You can drop off donations at designated bins inside the Horseshoe Pavilion.
