Call all high school seniors! Our applications for our newly named Silvestrini Scholars is now open! We will award $1,000 each to two students at Cottonwood High, Olympus High, Skyline High, and Utah International Charter School! The due date is Friday, April 10th!

Millcreek Promise’s Healthy Millcreek Coalition went to the capitol this week to talk with legislators about the work of local health coalitions. They were joined by the South Salt Lake Cares and Central 9th Coalitions. They talked with representative about the work that is done in communities to prevent youth substance misuse and strengthening their mental health.

We are so grateful for the chance to educate and put faces to the people behind the policies that are being considered on the hill!

Yesterday, the Millcreek Youth Council went to the Utah League of Cities and Towns Local Official’s Day at the Capitol!

Youth leaders in Millcreek had the opportunity to tour the capitol, engage in mock debates, and meet local legislators and city officials!

We are proud that they represented Millcreek so well! Here’s to Utah’s future leaders!

The city of Millcreek launched a career exploration program, geared towards showing youth different ways to access careers that might interest them.

Millcreek Futures was piloted this year with just under 100 students from Utah International Charter School. Talks are underway to expand the program to other school districts.

We have joined Promise Partnership Utah Promise South Salt Lake Granite School District and MANY other essential community partners in the goal to get closer to 100% graduation at Cottonwood High School. Seeing these graduates getting ready to have their moment this week was a such a cool moment of celebration for the families and students who work so hard towards this goal. Congratulations to all the graduates this year!

Millcreek Juneteenth is a celebration of art, music, and culture bringing the community together to honor the historical significance of Juneteenth and its power to unite. Join us for Live Performances, a Spoken Word Contest, Fashion Show, Art Gallery, Food Trucks, Prize Giveaways, and More! All are welcome, and we hope you will join us in the legacy of freedom!
