This is a great article on the responsibility of landlords to address critical issues and what tenants can do to hold their landlords accountable.

Waiting on repairs that never come? Here's what Wisconsin law requires your landlord to fix, how fast, and what tenants can do to push back. See link below ⬇️

A strong city budget means stronger neighborhoods.

The City of Milwaukee Budget Hearings are your opportunity to speak up for the investments our neighborhoods need—from home repairs and healthy housing to strong code enforcement, neighborhood revitalization, and resources that help families stay safely in their homes.

Reclaiming Our Neighborhoods (RON) encourages residents, partners, and community advocates to attend one of the Budget Hearings on July 29 or 30. When residents share their experiences and priorities, our elected leaders are better equipped to make decisions that strengthen Milwaukee's neighborhoods.

One down, two to go!

The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee (RACM) approved the creation of a Tax Incremental Financing District (TID) for the Amani Homeownership Initiative. This will help fund construction of more than 90 homes on vacant lots in the Amani neighborhood. Thanks to all of the residents and partners who attended today's hearing.

The next step is the Milwaukee Common Council's Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development (ZND) Committee on Tuesday, July 28. We will see you there!

We're hopeful for that approval and that of the full Common Council on Friday, July 31.

Strong neighborhoods are built through strong partnerships.

Reclaiming Our Neighborhoods (RON) was proud to be an official partner for the "Vote with WIsdom" Governor's Forum hosted by Walnut Way. We're committed to building on the strengths of our partners and sharing opportunities that help residents stay informed and engaged.

RON was especially pleased to help shape housing-related questions for the candidates, ensuring that neighborhood housing conditions remained part of the conversation. Safe, healthy housing matters, and informed voters help build stronger communities.

Thank you, Walnut Way and The WEB, for creating this important opportunity for civic engagement!

Yesterday, Reclaiming Our Neighborhoods (RON) was proud to join the City of Milwaukee and community partners to announce a proposed Residential Rental Inspection District Pilot in the Uptown neighborhood. The announcement was a part of the Mayor's press conference announcing the City's Adopt-a-Neighborhood for 2026.

Thank you to Mabel Lamb and the Sherman Park Community Association for representing RON today, and to the City of Milwaukee for partnering with neighborhood organizations to improve housing conditions for Milwaukee families. More on the importance of the Residential Rental Inspection District to come!

Together, we're building stronger, healthier neighborhoods.
