Our annual visit to the Hunger Task Force, Inc. Farm has become a tradition we look forward to each year! 🌱 🧑‍🌾

Rooted & Rising staff were joined by some of our partners and volunteers for a fun and rewarding day in the fields. Together, we harvested nearly 700 pounds of collard greens in just three hours—one of the Farm’s most requested crops. 🥬

Every visit gives us a deeper appreciation for the remarkable work happening at the Farm. From the organization and efficiency of the harvest to the care taken with the crops and growing fields, it’s clear how much thought goes into getting fresh, quality produce to families throughout the region.

Thank you, Hunger Task Force, for welcoming us and for the food you provide to our Food Center. We’re proud to partner with you to expand access to fresh, nutritious food and fight food insecurity in our community. 💚

A visit to our Food Center was also an opportunity to take care of your health. 💚

Thank you to Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin's outreach nurse for hosting a community flu clinic during our regular pantry hours. Offering the clinic at a time when neighbors were already visiting helped expand access to flu vaccines for the individuals and families we serve.

Our longstanding partnership with Froedtert has helped connect Washington Park residents with health resources and support close to home. We’re grateful for their continued care for our community and for everyone who stopped by the clinic!

🎨 **Help us Paint the Pavement in Washington Park!** 🎨

Rooted & Rising and Artists Working in Education, Inc. are bringing vibrant artwork to **three neighborhood crosswalks** along N. 40th Street, from W. Galena Street to W. Roberts Street.

We’re looking for volunteers on **Friday, October 2**, to help clean and prep the pavement, and on **Saturday, October 3**, to help paint and seal the artwork during the main event.

Lend a hand to help make our streets safer, brighter, and more walkable! All ages and skill levels are welcome. On Saturday, enjoy food, a street party, and time to connect with neighbors while the crosswalks come to life.

🎉 Main event: Saturday, October 3, beginning at noon

Our first-ever Golf Scramble was a huge success! ⛳

More than 90 golfers joined us at The River Club of Mequon for an incredible day filled with partners, friends, volunteers, and supporters. This event would not have been possible without each of you. Thank you for showing up, supporting our work, and helping make the day one to remember!
