It’s been a great week teaching K–12 students from East De Pere, Wrightstown, Pulaski, Oconto Falls, Preble, Denmark, West De Pere, and local homeschool programs about the exciting world of supply chain management and operations.

Through an interactive aviation operations and supply chain simulation, students are experiencing firsthand how planning, logistics, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making come together to keep complex systems running efficiently.

I believe every student deserves the opportunity to explore careers they may have never considered. By advocating for career awareness, hands-on learning, and strong connections between education partners and industry, students will discover their strengths, expand their possibilities, and prepare for the opportunities of tomorrow.

Student advocates matter. Every student deserves someone who believes in their potential and creates opportunities for them to succeed!

💡 Ask Your School Board About Grants
Taxpayers, parents, and community members have a right to know how their school district is pursuing additional funding opportunities.
Consider asking your school board:
✅ Does the district actively apply for grants?
✅ Which grants have been applied for in the past year?
✅ How many grants were awarded?
✅ What was the total dollar amount received?
✅ How are grant funds being used to benefit students, staff, and taxpayers?
✅ Are there grants available that the district is not pursuing?
Grant funding can help support academic programs, technology, student services, safety initiatives like DARE, workforce development, and more—often reducing the burden on local taxpayers.
Transparency matters. Understanding your district's grant strategy is an important part of good governance and financial stewardship.

‼️In Wisconsin, AODA grants stands for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse.
An AODA grant is funding provided to support programs that help prevent substance abuse, provide education, intervention services, counseling, and support students who may be struggling with alcohol or drug-related issues.
For school districts, AODA grant funds are often used for things such as:
Hiring or retaining an AODA coordinator or counselor
Student substance abuse prevention programs
Mental health and wellness initiatives
Early intervention services, DARE, etc.
Staff training on substance abuse awareness
Referrals and support services for students and families
Community partnerships focused on prevention
An AODA grant helped protect about $225,000 in funding for student support services. Grants like these can be significant because they provide services that districts might otherwise have to fund through local taxes or reduce due to budget constraints.

If your school board does not apply for AODA grants, ask why not?

Put kids first for their safety!

The Wisconsin DPI and the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions announced a $300,000 competitive grant program to help support the expansion of financial literacy education statewide. 📚In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, we’re highlighting important milestones in our nation’s education history.

Did you know? In 1917, the Smith-Hughes Act became the first federal law to provide funding specifically for vocational education. 🌾🔧🏠

The legislation provided federal aid to support precollegiate training in agriculture, industrial trades and home economics, helping students develop practical skills for the workforce and everyday life.

More than a century later, career and technical education continues to play an important role in preparing students for success in a wide range of careers and industries.

Follow along as we continue sharing the milestones that helped shape education in America! 🎉📖

Exciting news for this fall! 🎉 I am honored to be teaching Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to undergraduate students at the University of Wisconsin this fall semester.
As a Supply Chain Management educator, I am passionate about helping student leaders connect classroom concepts to real-world business applications. ERP systems play a critical role in integrating business processes across organizations, and I look forward to preparing the next generation of professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in today's data-driven business environment.
I am grateful for this opportunity and excited to work with students as they develop the technical and analytical skills that employers value across supply chain, operations, manufacturing, and business management.
Here's to a great semester ahead!
