Let's help local farmers Sandy and David, organized by Anne Steinberg

If you have ever been to UEDA's #CarnivalMilwaukee event, then you probably recognize Sandy in the photo below from our check-in table. She has volunteered for our annual fundraiser for many years - helping not only on the night-of, but also leading up to the day with planning, outreach, and volunteer recruitment.

Sandy and her husband David own and operate Pinehold Gardens, a farm located in Oak Creek, WI that has grown healthy food for hundreds of families and restaurants over the past 26 years. Sandy and David have been an important part of the local food movement in our region and last year their farm suffered catastrophic crop loss through no fault of their own.

We hope you will consider donating to the GoFundMe campaign below that was set up by their friends. Money raised will go directly to Sandy and David to help them recover from losing over 60% of their crop. ♥

The Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC) is inviting all working-age residents (approximately 18-65 years old) to participate in an important regional survey to assess the impact of #COVID-19 on employee commuting and remote work trends in Southeastern Wisconsin. Responses from working-age residents in your respective communities, counties, or service areas can help SEWRPC understand remote work adoption rates and help guide strategies for regional alternative transportation programs in a post-pandemic future. An analysis of the survey results will be posted to SEWRPC’s website later this spring or summer.
