UEDA Members are awesome! We are so thankful to the nearly 50 individuals who joined us this morning at our Annual Community Gathering. While it looked a bit different this year, we had a wonderful time sharing our 2020 accomplishments, plans for next year, and playing some interactive games with everyone.

Each year at this event, we thank and recognize members, partners, and outgoing Board members for their commitment to UEDA and the community and economic development sector. This year we were thrilled to recognize the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission as our Outstanding Community Partner and Irma Yepez Klassen (Zilber Family Foundation) as our Extraordinary Volunteer. Check out their unique awards below as well as a compilation piece of all our past awardees!

And lastly, a very special thank you to City.Net Cafe' for providing our guests with a special blend of coffee delivered right to their door! Be sure to check out their Wisconsin Ave café location and stay tuned over the next month as they launch Sam’s Place – their new location coming to MLK Drive!

VIA Community Development Corporation

New name, new look, same commitment to the community. Congratulations to VIA Community Development Corporation (formerly Layton Boulevard West Neighbors) on your 25th anniversary and beautifully updated brand!

As our organization celebrates 25 years of partnering with you to build strong and healthy neighborhoods, we are making a few changes. We promised that we would share a new name that is easy to remember, simple to say, and more clearly reflects our work of connecting neighbors and strengthening neighborhoods. Today is the day!

From here on out, you can call us: VIA.

As VIA Community Development Corporation (VIA for short) we have spent 25 years grounded in the same question that the School Sisters of St. Francis asked when we started: what do we envision for our community? From that seed of curiosity and hope, we’ve nurtured connections among one another and watched as our neighborhoods have grown stronger.

Along the way we’ve hosted ice cream socials to build community, renovated buildings to create homes, and supported entrepreneurs to reach their dreams. We know that by working with you, building from the strength in our community, we can envision a world where every neighborhood supports every person in reaching their full potential.

As VIA, we will keep making connections - just like “vias” do. As VIA, we will continue the community development work that strengthens our neighborhoods. After today, you’ll start to see changes to our logo, website, emails, and social media profiles.

With these changes, we want you to know that our commitment - to building strong, healthy neighborhoods with you and for all of us - is here to stay. Together, we have the power to build strong and healthy neighborhoods where everyone can thrive, which has never been more important. Thank you for your partnership and for joining us as we take our first steps into this next chapter.

Before you go, we hope you will take two minutes to watch the video above and visit the FAQs on our new website viacdc.org to learn more.

In partnership,
The VIA team

Juntos adelante
El equipo de VIA
