Milwaukee Succeeds is a collaborative effort launched in summer 2011 by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Greater Milwaukee Committee, Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, Milwaukee Urban League, United Way of Greater Milwaukee and the Helen Bader Foundation as a way to unite the community around a common goal: bringing about lasting change to the way education works for childre

Sebas has spend time working in education and youth mentorship, community and cultural organizing, the creative arts, and Spanish interpreting. Plus, he brings a passion for social justice, community liberation and autonomy, and music.

Toxic stress can have long-lasting impacts on a child’s life. Many early care and education providers are trained to recognize and address such stress.
Early childhood education providers help children reach important developmental and emotional milestones. According to Dr. John Meurer, pediatrician and community health professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin, this plays a key part in their mental health journey.
UNESCO recognizes the important part early childhood education plays in a child’s social and emotional development, calling it a “foundation for lifelong learning and wellbeing.”
