β¨ Program Highlight: Emergency Shelter β¨
Today, weβre sharing a closer look at our Emergency Shelter program and why it matters now more than ever. π
2025 Milwaukee Point-In-Time (PIT) Count data shows a growing need in our community. 986 individuals were identified as experiencing homelessness, with 78% staying in Emergency Shelters. Thatβs a 10% increase in overall homelessness and an 18% rise in shelter use compared to last year.
Behind these numbers are real people: women and families seeking safety, stability, and a chance to move forward.
π In 2025, thanks to your support, we were able to provide:
- 15,232 nights of safe shelter to women and adults & children in families
- Empowering services for 195 unaccompanied women and 50 families with children
- Support that helped 84 women and 43 families with children move into safe, permanent homes
Emergency shelters are more than a place to stay, they are a starting point for healing, dignity, and hope. We are deeply grateful to our community for making this work possible. π« But as the need continues to grow, so does the urgency.
π¨ You can help. Your support ensures that women and families have a safe place to land and the resources to build a brighter future.
