Weathersfield Fire Department

Weathersfield Fire Department The Weathersfield Township Fire Department was founded in January 1999, on the principal of "Community Service."

The formation of the Department was the combined efforts of the Mineral Ridge Volunteer Fire Department Inc., McKinley Heights Mutual Benefits Association, and the Board of Trustees. The two private fire companies joined forces to form a stronger more efficient Fire Department. Expansion from two single companies, all volunteer unit, to a multiple station paid per call organization. The fire depar

tment provides residential fire inspections when requested. They also inspect all new businesses and any updates done to current businesses within the Township. Mutual aid contracts have been signed to provide a network of additional fire protection from all of the member departments of the Trumbull county Firefighters' Association, as well as with Austintown Township and Jackson Township.

🚨🦝 POSSUM RESCUE SUCCESS! 🦝🚨

The Weathersfield Township Fire Department responded to an unusual "resident" found where he wasn't supposed to be—a curious little possum that had made itself at home inside a local residence.

Thanks to the quick actions of LT. Radovic, the furry trespasser was safely rescued without incident. After a brief ride with our crew, the little critter was transported to a local animal sanctuary where it can continue its adventures in a more appropriate setting.

📸 While some firefighters are known for fighting fires, today LT. Radovic added "Possum Wrangler" to his résumé.

A great job by everyone involved for ensuring a safe outcome for both the animal and the residents. We’re happy to report that the possum was unharmed, cooperative (mostly), and did not request to become a member of the department.

👏 Great work, LT. Radovic and all personnel involved!
