A long duration heat wave moves in this weekend and continues through most of next week. Although it may be less humid than we've experienced recently, the multi-day heat exposure can be unhealthy to some.

Remember how to keep yourself safe! Stay cool, stay hydrated, take breaks from activities, and check on your elderly/at-risk neighbors and relatives. Utilize the shared link to access a list of cooling options in Hennepin County.

Last weekend our team had the distinct pleasure to provide medical coverage for the inaugural Fishing for Fletcher event at Lake Harriet. Since that terrible day last August, we've been honored to be welcomed as part of the Annunciation community, including at numerous events honoring the memory of Fletcher and Harper, and supporting the survivors and all those impacted. Paramedics Ryan and Jason were also able to reunite with Sophia, creating lasting memories of the bonds formed that day.

Thank you to Hennepin EMS for providing first aid coverage and ambulance tours for the kids at this weekend’s inaugural Fishing for Fletcher event. Proud to be part of a day honoring Fletcher Merkel and celebrating the values that meant so much to him and the entire Annunciation community—connection, community, and his favorite pastime: fishing. A special moment from the day was seeing Sophia reunited with her care team, Hennepin EMS paramedics Ryan and Jason 💙

Please join us in congratulating Battalion Chief Kyle Koelln on the occasion of his retirement!

Kyle's service to country and community has spanned both the United States Army and public safety as a paramedic. His 24 years of service at Hennepin EMS, coupled with 12 years prior, have left a lasting impact on all who have shared in his career. If you see him out and about today, please wish him well! His retirement will be celebrated this afternoon (3p-5p) at our EMS headquarters.
