We’re celebrating a sweet tradition with The Salvation Army, who are here handing out donuts this morning at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. Donut Day began in 1938 to honor the “Donut Lassies” who served treats to soldiers during WWI.

Jaquetta consistently serves as the grounding force who brings stability, cohesion, and humanity to our cardiology service line. Clinically, she is the coordinating force behind our cardiology procedures, ensuring precision, seamless communication, and an unwavering focus on Veteran centered care. But just as importantly, she is also the coordinator of something far less tangible and far more powerful: our department's culture. Some might say she manages workflow and heart flow in equal measure. Her leadership is quiet but unmistakably woven into both the clinical excellence she delivers and the way she supports the people around her.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather for our 4th Annual Spinal Cord Injury and Disorder Center Inpatient Baseball Game!

Veteran patients, recreational therapists, and even our Center’s chief all “stepped up to the plate” for a fun day out in the sun —getting some swings, enjoying the fresh air, and benefiting from the exercise. Events like these are not just a hit, but also support recovery and overall wellbeing. Thanks to everyone who made it a home run for our community!
