💛 Woof! What a day - tails wagging and a few meows along the way!

CES recently partnered with the Animal Humane Society to host a pop-up vet care clinic for our neighbors - serving 46 pets from 33 families with preventative care.

Thanks to an experienced team of AHS volunteers, the day ran smoothly from intake through each step of care, ensuring every pet and their person felt cared for.

Along the way, many attendees were introduced to our food shelf for the first time. Several families signed up to shop that same day or scheduled future visits - helping us continue to connect more neighbors with the resources they need.

*This* is what community looks like - neighbors caring for neighbors (including the furry ones).

Summer break for kids is nearly here and our shelves could use a classic staple families rely on - peanut butter and jelly.

Drop off your donation M-F 9am-12pm at 1900 11th Ave S, Minneapolis.

Or up the ante and consider hosting a peanut butter and jelly drive with your group - youth group, congregation, book club, scout troop, or co-workers.

We are incredibly grateful to Lakewinds Food Co-op and their generous customers for supporting CES through their April Community Giving Round-Up program.

Throughout the month, shoppers rounded up their grocery bills and donated reusable bag credits, raising an amazing $17,916.14 to help support our CES neighbors most in need.

This partnership demonstrates the incredible impact a community can make when people come together to care for one another. Every dollar raised will provide nourishing fresh produce for local families.

Our snack shelves are running low, and families with kids will soon be counting on us for healthy and easy options over summer break.

We’re currently in need of healthy snacks like popcorn, granola bars, graham crackers, and apple sauce.

🚨 ACTION ALERT 🚨 Contact your Minnesota state lawmakers TODAY (Wednesday, 5/13) and urge them to maintain stable funding for food shelves and food banks. It is at risk! This support is critical as food shelf visits across Minnesota are rising and federal hunger relief programs like SNAP are cut. This is an easy way to help secure reliable access to food for our neighbors most in need. Tell your lawmaker that you care and want to protect hunger relief funding.

Last year, 9 million Minnesotans turned to food shelves for help. But if nothing changes, they will receive 50% less funding next year, Lisa Williams writes.
