Día de Roberto Clemente ⚾️❤️

¡Qué alegría compartir un día tan especial en Target Field! Un grupo de Centro Tyrone Guzmán tuvo la oportunidad de acompañar a los Minnesota Twins en la celebración del Roberto Clemente Day, en el marco del Mes de la Herencia Hispana.

Durante el partido, nos unimos a una de las tradiciones más queridas del béisbol y cantamos juntos “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”. ⚾️🎶

Roberto Clemente representa mucho más que una leyenda del béisbol. Su compromiso con la comunidad, su solidaridad y su legado de servicio continúan inspirando a generaciones.

Gracias a los Minnesota Twins por invitarnos a ser parte de esta celebración y por crear espacios para reconocer y celebrar nuestras raíces, nuestra cultura y nuestras contribuciones a la comunidad.

What a wonderful day at Target Field! A group from Centro Tyrone Guzmán had the opportunity to join the Minnesota Twins for a special celebration of Roberto Clemente Day, as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.

During the game, we joined one of baseball’s most beloved traditions and sang “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” together. ⚾️🎶

Roberto Clemente represents so much more than a baseball legend. His commitment to community, generosity, and service continues to inspire generations.

Thank you to the Minnesota Twins for inviting us to be part of this celebration and for creating spaces to recognize and celebrate our roots, our culture, and our contributions to the community.

La Junta Escolar de las Escuelas Públicas de Minneapolis (MPS) establece la visión del distrito, sus prioridades presupuestarias y la dirección de cada escuela en Minneapolis.

Día Mundial del Alzheimer | 21 de septiembre ❤️

Hoy, en el Día Mundial del Alzheimer, recordamos la importancia de acompañar, cuidar y fortalecer a las personas mayores y a quienes las cuidan.

Recientemente, miembros de nuestra comunidad participaron en la Walk to End Alzheimer’s en Minneapolis, uniéndose a miles de personas que caminan para crear conciencia y apoyar los esfuerzos de cuidado, apoyo e investigación relacionados con el Alzheimer.

En Centro Tyrone Guzman, creemos que el bienestar de nuestras comunidades incluye acompañar a nuestros adultos mayores, fortalecer sus conexiones sociales y culturales y apoyar también a sus familias y cuidadores.

World Alzheimer’s Day | September 21 ❤️

Today, on World Alzheimer’s Day, we recognize the importance of supporting, caring for, and strengthening older adults and those who care for them.

Recently, members of our community participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Minneapolis, joining thousands of people who came together to raise awareness and support Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.

At Centro Tyrone Guzman, we believe that community well-being includes supporting our older adults, strengthening their social and cultural connections, and supporting their families and caregivers.

Thank you to everyone in our community who walked with us and continues to help build a community where older adults can live with dignity, connection, and well-being. ❤️

🌷 Semana de Concientización sobre la Mortalidad Infantil

Cada bebé merece un comienzo saludable y la oportunidad de crecer, prosperar y alcanzar su máximo potencial.

En Minnesota, un promedio de 320 bebés muere cada año. Entre 2020 y 2024, las principales causas de mortalidad infantil fueron la prematuridad (31.8%), los defectos de nacimiento (24.9%), otras condiciones perinatales (15.6%) y la muerte súbita e inesperada del bebé / SIDS (13.3%). Juntas, representaron el 85.6% de las muertes infantiles.

Detrás de cada estadística hay un bebé, una familia y una comunidad. Crear mejores oportunidades para las familias requiere conciencia, prevención, acceso a servicios de salud, apoyo y comunidades conectadas.

En Centro Tyrone Guzman, creemos que apoyar a las familias desde el comienzo de la vida es una responsabilidad compartida. A través de nuestro enfoque intergeneracional, trabajamos para fortalecer a las familias Latine mediante el aprendizaje, los recursos y el acompañamiento comunitario. ❤️

🌷 Infant Mortality Awareness Week

Every baby deserves a healthy start and the opportunity to grow, thrive, and reach their fullest potential.

Una noche histórica para Minnesota y para nuestra comunidad Latine. ❤️

Centro Tyrone Guzman tuvo el honor de asistir a la 39.ª edición de los Hispanic Heritage Awards, celebrada por primera vez fuera de Washington, D.C., aquí en Minneapolis, en Orchestra Hall.

La ceremonia celebró a líderes y figuras de la cultura latina y otorgó el Humanitarian Award a “The People of Minnesota”, en reconocimiento a la solidaridad, el servicio y el apoyo demostrados por personas y organizaciones de todo el estado.

Un momento muy especial fue ver a Xavier Vazquez subir al escenario como líder de la comunidad Latine de Minnesota. A través de su vestimenta, representó simbólicamente y rindió homenaje a quienes no pudieron estar presentes.

Gracias a Antonio Tijerino, Presidente de la Hispanic Heritage Foundation; a Henry Jimenez de Propel Nonprofits, por ayudar a traer los premios a Minnesota y a Nena's Atelier por apoyar nuestra participación en esta celebración.

A historic night for Minnesota and our Latine community. ❤️

Centro Tyrone Guzman was honored to attend the 39th Hispanic Heritage Awards, held for the first time outside Washington, D.C., here in Minneapolis at Orchestra Hall.

The ceremony celebrated Latino leaders and cultural figures and presented the Humanitarian Award to “The People of Minnesota,” recognizing solidarity, service, and support across the state.

A special moment was seeing Xavier Vazquez take the stage as a leader of Minnesota’s Latine community. Through his attire, he symbolically honored those who could not be present.

Thank you to Antonio Tijerino, President of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation; Henry Jimenez of Propel Nonprofits, for helping bring the awards to Minnesota; and Nena's Atelier for supporting our participation.

Nos aseguramos de que Montessori esté disponible para niños y niñas de familias de bajos ingresos. Porque lo que nos falta principalmente como latinas es acceso.

Generalmente, Montessori es una educación para quienes tienen privilegios.

Tener un enfoque Montessori que se centra en la independencia, la autonomía y en devolvernos esa dignidad: yo puedo hacerlo por mí misma. ❤️

Los niños de Siembra y nuestros Sabies Mayores vivieron una experiencia intergeneracional alrededor del huerto.

Juntos aprendieron sobre las herramientas para sembrar y cosechar, mientras nuestros Sabies Mayores compartieron sus conocimientos sobre los frutos y cómo prepararlos.

Disfrutaron de una deliciosa ensalada preparada con la cosecha del huerto, conectando esta experiencia con la importancia de una alimentación saludable.❤️

Un encuentro para aprender, compartir y mantener vivas nuestras tradiciones entre generaciones.

🌱 Growing, learning, and sharing across generations

The children of Siembra and our Wise Elders shared an intergenerational experience in the garden.

Together, they learned about the tools used for planting and harvesting, while our Wise Elders shared their knowledge about the fruits and how to prepare them.

They enjoyed a delicious salad prepared with the garden’s harvest, connecting the experience to the importance of healthy nutrition.❤️

An opportunity to learn, share, and keep our traditions alive across generations.
