🎥 Have you seen our new video?

One of Groveland’s five partner churches put together a wonderful video highlighting the work happening at Groveland Emergency Food Shelf. We’re so grateful for their support — and for all the ways our partner churches show up for our community!

Give it a watch, and then join us in saying…

We were so excited to welcome Gay 4 Good to Groveland Emergency Food Shelf earlier this summer!

Gay 4 Good is a national organization with chapters across the country that brings LGBTQ+ volunteers together to support nonprofits and strengthen their local communities.

Their visit to Groveland was made possible through a wonderful community connection. Gay 4 Good partnered with The Sandwich Project to make sandwiches for neighbors experiencing food insecurity, and Groveland is one of the local organizations that receives sandwiches through The Sandwich Project.

It was through that partnership that our Executive Director Sharon connected with the Gay 4 Good team — and we were thrilled to welcome them to Groveland!

We’re grateful for the time, energy, and care they brought with them. Partnerships like this remind us that addressing hunger is a community effort, and that when organizations come together, a little generosity can go a long way.

Thank you, Gay 4 Good, for showing up for our community!

RETAIL RESCUE 🚐🥖

What happens when a local grocery store has more food than it can sell?

At Groveland, sometimes the answer is:
Let's move it.

Through Retail Rescue, we pick up surplus food from local businesses and bring it to our community.

That means good food gets eaten instead of wasted.
It means more variety for our guests.
And it means ready-to-eat food can reach neighbors who may not have reliable access to a kitchen.

But none of that happens without transportation.

The van makes Retail Rescue possible.

This September, we're raising $32,000 to help pay for our new van.

Your donation doesn't more than help us: It helps keep food moving.

WEEK TWO: WE'RE STILL MOVING!

Our van fundraising dial is inching upward!

Thanks to our amazing community, we've now raised $592.80 toward our $32,000 goal.

Are we there yet? Nope.

Are we moving in the right direction? Absolutely.

Every donation helps us get closer to keeping food moving—whether it's $5, $25, $50, or whatever works for you.

No donation is too small. Every bit counts.

Because a little from a lot of people can add up to something big. And that's what we're hoping to do together: keep our new van on the road and keep rescuing food, reducing waste, supporting our partners, and getting food to our neighbors.

$592.80 down. Let's keep that thermometer moving!

Why does a food shelf need a van?

Because food doesn't magically appear on our shelves.

A local retailer has surplus food.
A bakery has bread at the end of the day.
A community partner has food to share.
A donation needs to be picked up.
A neighbor needs ready-to-eat food.
And someone has to move it.

That's what our van does.

It connects food with people.
It helps prevent good food from becoming waste.
It makes Retail Rescue possible.
It helps us respond when our community's needs change.
And it allows Groveland to say:
"Yes. We can pick that up."

This September, we're raising $32,000 toward our new van.
Because a van isn't just transportation.
It's food access.

1,200 families. Every week.

During Operation Metro Surge, Groveland consistently supported around 1,200 families each week.

Those numbers represent thousands of individual people—neighbors, children, parents, grandparents, roommates, friends.

And supporting that many people requires more than food.
It requires coordination.
Relationships.
Volunteers.
Community partners.
And reliable transportation.

Our new van is one of the tools that allows all those pieces to come together.

We're raising $32,000 this September to help pay for it.

Help us keep food moving.

🚐 $580! WE'RE MOVING!

Okay, we're not exactly at the finish line yet—but every road trip starts somewhere.

So far, you've helped us raise $580 of our $32,000 goal to help pay for our new van.

That $580 represents food rescued, food moved, food delivered, and one more step toward having the transportation we need to keep saying yes to our community.

$580 down. $31,420 to go.

We'll keep you posted as the dial moves. Thanks for helping us keep food moving!
