Join Agate for our Donor Advised Funds Info Session at The Valiance. Enjoy a short shelter tour and learn how DAFs work from foundation leaders, a financial advisor and an Agate donor. Bring your questions!

Community Drop-In hours are available at The Valiance! 🧡

Starting today, Drop-In hours are available every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Valiance, 2810 27th Ave S.
People can access showers, laundry, hygiene supplies, lunch and more.

Mobile medical care is available on Thursdays.

Something as simple as knowing the time can make a difference. ⌚

For people experiencing homelessness, not having access to a phone or watch can make it difficult to keep track of important housing, medical and court appointments.
Agate is seeking durable digital watches that display the time, date and day of the week. Solar powered and water resistant options are especially helpful.

On August 20, Agate was proud to host The Minneapolis Foundation at The Valiance Shelter for a conversation about homelessness and housing in Minneapolis.

The event brought donors and community leaders together to discuss current housing trends, potential federal changes to supportive housing, homeownership disparities and the financial and operational pressures facing affordable housing.

Thank you to our panelists Kyle Hanson of Agate, Rich Melzer of YouthLink MN, Karla Henderson of Project for Pride in Living, Chris LaTondresse of Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative and Adair Mosley of GroundBreak Coalition for sharing their knowledge and perspectives.

In July, Agate's Housing Location team helped 17 people move into housing, a huge achievement worth celebrating! This work is about more than finding an available apartment. Our team builds relationships with property managers, advocates for each person, and works to ensure their needs and safety are considered along the way. It takes diligence, care, and trust to do this work well. We're proud to have a team committed to helping people find not just housing, but a place they can truly call home.

Look at how the Metro Inn Community Garden has grown! 🌱

These photos, taken at the end of August, show just how much progress the garden has made this summer. This space was made possible with the help of some amazing community partners.

A special thank you to Windom Community Kenny Neighborhood Association Lynnhurst Neighborhood, ACLU, Dan at South Lyndale Liquors & Market and the WeFeedUs Build Crew.
