Since 1970, The Bridge has served over 50,000 homeless and runaway youth in the Minneapolis area. The Bridge for Youth is a premier resource for diverse populations of youth and families needing help by offering: Support that empowers. Safe shelter. A special shout out to our friends at RBC Wealth Management who went above and beyond at their recent kit packing event. Their team put together over 1,000 snack kits for our Mobile Youth Outreach Center - so many that they needed to bring a whole moving truck to The Bridge!

This gift helps us give essential resources to youth as we begin our busy back to school season. We are so deeply thankful for the support from RBC and everyone in our commUNITY of support. It takes all of us to ensure youth are safe, accepted, and supported 🧡

Centering youth voice and growing leadership is key at The Bridge. Recently, members of our Youth Advisory Board (YAB) spent a day at our president’s farm. Hear more from Will, a member of the YAB and the Youth Social Media Committee:
"A week ago, we Youth Advisory Board members took a trip to President Lisa’s farm where we crafted colorful zinnia bouquets, did some fun icebreakers, and discussed and established YAB values. The icebreakers were especially important to welcome and get to know our newest YAB member - DJ!

Before establishing YAB values, we set our baseline to the values that The Bridge follows: Community, co-creation, collaboration, integrity, respect, patience, love, and caring.

From these, we established our current YAB values: patience, honesty, fellowship, respect, and passion. And we will carry these values in all of the work that we do at the Bridge 🧡"

⚠️ IMPORTANT RESOURCE: The Bridge is a "Cooling Station" for youth ages 10-17 to escape dangerous temperatures ☀️
When a Heat Advisory or Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for Hennepin County, the heat index is forecast to reach 95°F or higher, or other environmental conditions create a risk of heat-related illness, youth are welcome to come in and find shelter from the heat. Youth can use our lobby to cool off, grab a bottle of water and a snack, relax a bit, and charge their phones.
We are located at 1111 W 22nd St in Minneapolis, off of bus lines 2, 6, and 12.

Thank you to our commUNITY at RBC Wealth Management for joining us for an afternoon of kit packing for the Mobile Youth Outreach Center. The team worked fast assembling hundreds of snack packs to share with youth across the metro.

Working with youth is such a THRILL! Earlier this week staff took youth on a special outing to Valleyfair. With the 90 degree heat away for the day, everyone enjoyed bonding over a day of fast rollercoasters and games. Making special memories like this is just one way we help youth feel safe, accepted, and supported 🧡
