Summit Independent Living is a non-residential, private, non-profit organization that offers a wide range of services designed to give people with disabilities the tools and resources that are needed to improve independence, self-confidence, knowledge, skills and access to community resources. Summit also works at the community level to build awareness and reduce attitudinal, architectural and com
munication barriers; combat discrimination; and promote the development of needed resources, programs, services, and policies. Summit is governed by a consumer-controlled Board of Directors whose lives have been personally impacted by a disability. It is funded in part by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended in 1992 (Title VII- Independent Living Services), and the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (Disability Transitions Programs). Summit has offices located in Missoula, Hamilton, Kalispell, and Ronan.
