Mother Nature has decided to be tonight's headliner...

Unfortunately, with the weather not cooperating, we've made the difficult decision to cancel tonight's Music in the Park. As much as we love live music, we have to protect their equipment and all of the sound gear they travel with.

Trust us—we're just as disappointed as you are! 💔 We were looking forward to another fantastic evening of music, dancing, and community fun.

The members of Modena Fire & Rescue are proud to congratulate Rescue Lt. Mark Winters and FF Shawn Winters II on successfully graduating from Firefighter I.

This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment they have shown throughout their training. Earning FF1 is a significant milestone and prepares them to better serve our community.

What makes this accomplishment even more special is that both Mark and Shawn are third-generation firefighters in Modena, proudly carrying on a family tradition of service that spans generations. Their commitment honors the legacy of those who came before them while helping build the future of our department.

It is with regret that the officers and members of Modena Fire and Rescue announce the passing of Life Member Carole Sutton.

Carole dedicated decades of selfless service to the Modena community. Her legacy includes serving as a Charter Member of the Modena Rescue Squad and a Charter Member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was instrumental in shaping the emergency services we provide today, and her commitment to helping others will never be forgotten.

We extend our deepest condolences to Carole’s friends and loved ones during this difficult time. Please keep them in your prayers. Rest in peace, Carole.

The Officers and Members of Modena Fire and Rescue extend our deepest condolences to the Cottekill Volunteer Fire Company following the sudden and tragic loss of Chief David Gagnon in the line of duty.

Please keep the Cottekill Fire Department, as well as Chief Gagnon’s family and loved ones, in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. His dedication to serving the community will not be forgotten.

As you gather with family and friends to mark this once-in-a-lifetime Independence Day, your local first responders remain on standby. We love a great celebration, but we want to make sure everyone makes it home safely.

🎆 Essential Fireworks Safety Reminders from the Team:Leave it to the Professionals: The absolute safest way to enjoy fireworks is to attend a public community display.

Sparklers Burn Hot: Sparklers can reach temperatures of up to 1,200°F—hot enough to melt copper! Never let young children hold them unsupervised.

Keep Water Nearby: If you are using legal consumer fireworks, always have a dedicated bucket of water or a garden hose ready to extinguish duds and embers.

Soak and Dispose: Soak all used fireworks in a bucket of water overnight before placing them in a trash bin.
