Two large piles of almond hulls have been burning on the 1300 block of Meikle Road near Hickman since yesterday afternoon. The piles will continue to burn for several days and will put up a considerable amount of smoke that will be visible for miles. Firefighters have determined there is minimal threat to nearby properties, but as a precaution there are employees monitoring the situation closely.

This plan helps identify local risks such as flooding, wildfires, and extreme weather, and guides long-term strategies to reduce impacts on our communities. Public input is an important part of the process.
