Congratulations and cheers to 20 years of service to Monterey! City council recognized staff that recently reached 20 years of service at the June 16th council meeting. Kim Smith was recognized for her service as Public Services Manager for the Library. Kim is involved in many of the programs and physical and digital collections here in the library, and was instrumental in getting the grant to fund our new Bookmobile. We appreciate the opportunity to celebrate staff who contribute to serving the community. Congratulations to Fire Captain Neal Hurd, Fire Engineer Russell Stopper, and others not pictured for their service to Monterey. ✨

On Saturday we celebrated Worldwide Knit in Public Day with a wonderful gathering outdoors on Colton Hall Lawn in collaboration with Surrounded by beautiful weather and lots of creativity, knitters of all skill levels came together to share their love of fiber arts.
