Join us tomorrow, Thursday, June 18 at 1:30 pm for the last in our movie series of film favorites. We will be watching and discussing My Cousin Vinny.

Last week, Donna facilitating her favorite movie- a movie about bugs called ‘A Hard Day’s Night’, the 1964 classic about The Beatles-John, Paul, George and Ringo. Everyone loved it and there was a lot of toe-tapping and singing along! During the post-movie discussion Rick got up and played a couple of Beatles tunes for the audience. We even got the treat of looking at the scrapbook of a proud Beatles fan who is none other than our staff member, Anna. She was lucky enough to have seen the Beatles play at Shea Stadium in 1964 for the now unheard ticket price of $5.65...and we were lucky enough to see the ticket stub! Thank you to Donna, Rick, and Anna for transforming the simple act of watching a movie into a reminder of how wonderful this community is.

Today, the Town of Cortlandt officially opened a new compost station at Hendrick Hudson Free Library.

Library Director Jill Davis was joined by Town Supervisor Dr. Richard Becker, Wendy Talio of the Conservation Advisory Council, and Board Members Jim Creighton and Joyce White to mark the occasion.

The partnership is a natural fit, as the Library has long been a leader in sustainability efforts.

Residents can expect a postcard from the Town soon, with details on all compost drop-off locations and more information about the program.
