🐾We're partnering with Mountaineers for Mutts for a meowy special event: on Saturday, September 19, celebrate Caturday! First, from 1-2 p.m. kids are invited to a Snuggling Story Time to read to the cutest kittens in town. Then from 2-3 p.m. folks of all ages can give these adorable little cats all of the pets, cuddles, and socialization they deserve! The shelter can also help you find and adopt a fuzzy friend.

The new bestsellers this week include "Fury in Death," "Hollow Bones," and "Under Story." The new movies this week include "Project Hail Mary," "Disclosure Day," and "Bluey: Seasons One - Three."

Morgantown Public Library will be undergoing a roofing project starting Monday, August 31. The work is expected to take approximately two weeks. The building will remain open during this time, and all library services will be accessible to patrons. However, please be aware that visitors will experience louder than normal noise levels inside the building while the project is underway. Please note that this timeline is an estimate. The project timeline and library hours may change or be delayed due to unexpected factors. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we improve our facility. Experience the magic of storytelling, now every week! Starting September 1, on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. kiddos will enjoy listening to stories, doing hands-on activities, and playing together in a relaxed environment. Storytime builds skills such as socializing, active listening, and imagination all while having lots of fun! Ages 3-5 recommend. All ages are welcome!

Celebrate our creepy crawly friends (or learn to love them) with the book Bugs! Bugs! Bugs! by Bob Barner, as read by Ms. Sharon! The activity packet that goes along with this week's story includes a bug picture frame, a poem, and a special scavenger hunt challenge—pick one up at the Morgantown Public Library front desk while supplies last.

Teens, come to a program where creativity meets community service! Create handmade items to support local organizations and help community members in need. At our first session on Wednesday, September 9 at 5:30 p.m., we’ll be making dog toys for Animal Friends Shelter, homemade cards for both Sending Sunshine and Meals on Wheels, and sensory ocean bottles for the library's sensory kits. Plus teens will also get two certified community service hours (at MHS) if they come to the whole program!
