Firefighters face unique health risks on the job, including an increased risk of certain cancers. In fact, firefighters are 62% more likely to develop esophageal cancer, making awareness and screening especially important for those in the firefighting profession.

Today, Morgantown firefighters had the opportunity to take part in esophageal cancer screenings, an important part of caring for their health. We’re grateful to the healthcare professionals who helped make these screenings available and to our firefighters for prioritizing their health both on and off the job!
