What inspired you to pursue a career in law enforcement? My interest in pursuing a career in law enforcement was inspired by my brother, who took me on several ride-along that allowed me to experience policing firsthand. Seeing the responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities to serve the community firsthand sparked my interest in the profession and motivated me to pursue a career in law enforcement.
What are the most challenging aspects of your job? The most challenging aspect is responding to calls involving children. Those situations can be especially difficult emotionally, but they also reinforce the importance of remaining professional, compassionate, and focused on protecting those who are most vulnerable.
What is your favorite place in Monongalia County? Cheat Lake.
Who has been the biggest influence on your career path, and why? The biggest influence on my career path has been Lieutenant Burks. From the beginning of my career, Lieutenant Burks has guided and mentored me, teaching me not only how to become a better law enforcement officer, but also how to serve others with integrity and professionalism. His leadership and guidance have played a significant role in shaping the officer and the person I have become.
Last one... If you could be any fictional character for a day, who would you be? I would be the Master Chief from Halo.
